WE are getting ready for Xmas. Sweewing and having fun!

We love craft and we love to wear nice things. Oh!! We had a lovely time in the Sunny Spain, gave us a boost of energy and we came back to London with new ideas and propositions in our little heads!!!

We have been lately amazed by fascinators and brooches so, why not having both of them at once? We are working in amazing brooches that can be fascinators or other way around.
We like quality and at the moment we are working with a gorgeous pieces of fabric to make those lovely fasbro, as we like to call our brooches fascinators. London has been sunny until recently and we still keep the bright rays of light with us so for this winter we propose Cheerful and Colourful fasbros to cheer up your  lovely coats and hair!!

What is our main inspiration: Happiness translated into bright colours and collage.

How did we do Isabel's fabric rose necklace?

If you do craft  is purely because you love to do it. You spend so long time doing everything!!! Why do I say this? Unfortunately I've notice in markets I've been doing recently people don't appreciate something done handmade... And that is a bit sad :-(
Some many of my craft colleagues with whom I've done some markets repeat the same thing:

"People don't appreciate what is handmade and with good quality, most of the people want to buy cheap and don't consider neither the quality, neither the creativity or time spent in making an item".

Unfortunately not everyone is like that but somehow is true that that is happening... What can we do to change that and make the beauty of the craft items get the value that really have? I do my bit, I share with you how Isabel's necklace is done. I spent nearly 6 hours doing it in between designing, choosing fabrics and making the pieces and sewing.


Here you have all the steps to make it:

First we need to cut strings of fabric, some pieces work.

We make a not at one extreme of the string and roll over it so that's how we make our fabric rose

And we make more roses of different sizes

Now we have to decide the shape we will give to our necklace

We cut a piece of jeans with the shape we chose and sew each rose over it

Sewing and sewing...

We have our roses in place! Now strings for the necklace

We take a 100% cotton old T-shirt and cut some strings

We make the knot

ON HOLIDAYS BUT ALWAYS WITH YOU

From today DORADO is on holidays. We will have some time off to share with our loved ones, and enjoy this beautiful London in Christmas with its markets, stalls, songs, lights......
However I wanted to say to you that we've appreciated all support and your suggestions.... And I wanted to announce DORADO will launch a leather free earrings collection, but that will be for the next year... And some more more surprises, but I'll let you know when the right time will come.

DAY OFF

Today DORADO has a day off, after some crazy weeks working hard doing all of those markets, we well deserved a Sunday off!!! Day to enjoy the Xmas Spirit of London!!!

HOW WAS THE LAST HACKNEY CUT?

Last Hackney Cut was absolutely fantastic. We will be missing it tomorrow.. snif snif.. In a month time our next visit, but, in the main time, have a look at our stall with +Tod's bags, a new range of completely hand painted bags printed in 100% cotton bags. A cool bulgarian duded that is rocking London!

BACK TO HACKNEY CUT THIS SUNDAY

We missed our Hackney Cut last Saturday!! They were off preparing for the big one next Sunday!! it's gonna be the XtraSpecial Xmas Market!!!! After that we will say "bye, bye Hackney Cut!" until January 2013. For those who have come before, guys, you know what's so good over there and who hasn't make it yet... Don't miss the last chance of this year to come over and discover this fantastic hidden place in the always awesome Hackney Wick!! It's gonna be a big one just for being so special we will be rocking there from 11am to 11pm!!!! Probably drunk by closing time, but, hey!! We have to celebrate, Xmas is on its way!!!!

UPMARKET @ BRICK LANE THIS SUNDAY

What's are we up for on Sunday?? Brick Lane!! WE'LL BE AT UPMARKET!!!!

We'll be selling our  earrings plus our Special Xmas Collection of Recycled Cardboard Xmas Tree. Come over, have fun in Brick Lane, eat, listen music and come to say "HELLO" to us!!!

And, remember, tomorrow we'll have Rocking Hackney Town Hall Market from 11am!! This time our lovely Antonia will be with us selling her fab vintage range of clothes, shoes and accessories!!!

SUNDAY CAME AT ITS END AND WE CAN BE BACK TO ONE

Thanks so much guys for a day like today.. We manage to duplicate, triplicate, quintuplicate today!!! This morning we went to +HACKNEY CUT and our friend @ANTONIA PEÑA and @CANDY SOAP we managed to get all ready and ready for all of you guys!! Then he headed to CHRIST CHURCH SPITALFIELDS XMAS MARKET and did our second round!!!

We had lots of fun together, We loved to see you there!

Today 2x Bill: Hackney Cut and Spitafields

We manage to do it, yeah!! We can now multiply ourselves and be at different places at the same time. However we'll get our breakfast at Hackney Cut and lunch at Spitafields Church.. Going back for the cocktail and some music at Hackney Cut.. Do you want to fiend us?? Will be at both places today from 11.00 to 8.00!!! Come and let's have something together!!

Friday... Sunday is getting closer and closer

At DORADO have been working hard these last days to bring our best earrings to HACKNEY CUT MARKET once again this next SUNDAY.

Such a great time at Hackney Cut!!

Last Sunday was stunning! We had a great time at Hackney Cut. The place is a completely brand new art venue in the center of Hackney Wick!!!!! Awesome food, great choice of drinks, fab music, screening of movies, live bands playing, jazz sessions and among all that, DORADO!! DORADO was there with other mates in this extra new market that will take place every Sunday from now on. Come over and enjoy a lazzy Sunday with us there, let yourself go with the vibe of the music, enjoy a glass of wine in the terrazze facing the river and the Olympic site and check out the different stalls that are in the market from vintage clothes and furniture to creative writing, handmade hats, pendants or earrings.
